Here is the text from a Word document I have on "prep in a year" the author is unknown.
(This is an LDS handout so there are some religious references in it.)
Prep in a year
Make a shopping list and stick to it. It can be done! Cut out junk food and expensive processed foods. Buy smart! Remember, sacrifice brings forth
the blessings of Heaven.
"A year's supply" is from the Lord. He will help you accomplish this. (I Nephi 3:7)
1. Each week do something and store it away.
2. Get a marker for marking the dates to aid in the rotation.
3. Buy the largest amount you can sensibly afford.
4. Replace items as you use them.
5. Grocery stores don't always have the best buys.
6. If you miss a week, continue the next week. Try not to get behind.
7. Share your hot buys with other Sisters.
If you already have a sufficient supply of any item, please make a substitute for that week. (Wheat, powdered eggs, camping supplies,
clothing, etc.)
To determine the amount of your needs, buy a package, date it, and then use it till it's gone. When gone, determine the time it lasted and then
determine how many you need for a year. Then return to using what you were using before.
